AN estimated 5,000-strong crowd thronged the Hari Raya
open house hosted by Sri Muda assemblyman Shuhaimi Shafiei at Section 9,
Putra Heights recently.
The crowd came from Putra Heights,
Subang Jaya, and surrounding neighbourhoods such as Kampung Bukit
Lanchung, Taman Alam Megah, and Sections 27 and 28 in Shah Alam.
They were treated to tasty fare comprising ketupat, lemang, rendang, roast meat, satay, mutton curry and ice kacang.
In
his welcoming speech, Shuhaimi said this year’s Hari Raya open house
was held for the first time in Putra Heights, with previous ones held in
other areas under the Sri Muda constituency.
“Sri Muda is unique as the constituency falls under the purview of three local councils and two land offices.
“The
majority of the constituency falls under the Shah Alam City Council’s
jurisdiction, but a quarter comes under the Klang Municipal Council
while the rest is under the Subang Jaya Municipal Council,” he said.
He also handed over the last batch of contributions to surau and schools that could not be presented in time during the Ramadan period.
Shuhaimi said the state government had given a total of RM201,600 for the Sri Muda constituency’s Ramadan allocations.
Among the performances lined up at the Hari Raya open house was a nasyid performance.
