Cops looking for guard who abused 2 toddlers
It is learnt that the guard hit the two toddlers with his hands because they were crying and refused to speak to him.
The girls' 21-year-old mother, T. Vijayaletchmy, said both her daughters' faces were badly swollen from the beatings.
She said the eyes of one of her daughters, Nishalini, were swollen to the point she could not open them while her mouth was injured and also swollen.
Her younger sister, Harini, also suffered a bruised left eye and some cuts to the mouth.
In the 4pm incident, the 28-year-old guard allegedly tied the toddlers' wrists, slapped and punched them when they cried and refused to speak to him.
Vijayaletchmy said she did not know why the relative resorted to violence.
She also claimed that the man was not drunk at the time.
"I am not sure why he hit them," she said after lodging a police report at the Section 15 police station here yesterday.
The housewife also claimed that the man had never laid hands on her children and Wednesday's episode was the first time.
However, apart from the fresh injuries, the toddlers also carried signs of old injuries, including scars on their bodies.
The victims' paternal father was serving time in the Sungai Buloh prison.
Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Zahedi Ayob, when contacted, confirmed receiving the report.
"Police are now looking for the security guard to record his statement and assist in investigation," he said.
After the report was lodged, the toddlers were taken to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) for treatment by Sri Muda assemblyman Shuhaimie Shafiei.
Both have been admitted to HTAR because of the seriousness of their injuries yesterday evening.
